Dana Porter is a professor and associate head of the department of biological and agricultural engineering at Texas A&M University. In addition, she is the extension program leader for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Her integrated applied research and extension program in agricultural water management and irrigation emphasizes technologies and management for water-limited (quantity and quality) conditions. As extension program leader and associate department head, she advises and advocates for extension engineering professionals and programs.
She has authored or co-authored more than 60 refereed journal publications and numerous conference presentations and developed a variety of other publications, workshops, and products.
Porter holds BS and MS degrees in agricultural engineering from Texas A&M University and a PhD from Mississippi State University in agricultural and biological engineering.
